Some of the buildings in Amsterdam were just plain ugly. The fearsome thing in the back was apparently a mall.

See that dot... that's a hot-air balloon. We're on the train, passing through Germany. Which means that it's ein luftballoon.

Where I checked my e-mail in Florence. you can't really see it, but there is a sign on the door saying they proudly run Linux. (What the heck's an Internet Train, anyways?)

The Duomo hulks over everything in Florence.
