1:45 AM: Not Tonight

i just saw spiderman 2. i wasn't in the mood for it, as i'd gone to the theater with my sisters to see the village, but it was sold out.

spiderman 2 was pretty disturbing, not because of any violence or bloodshed, but because all the characters seemed fetishized. spiderman himself most of all-- frail, vulnerable, and trembling with loneliness. it was too much for me, tonight.

10:45 PM: Rest in Peace

sigh. francis crick has passed away. i saw him speak at ucla once. he talked about his work researching consciousness. i couldn't not go, since i was taking psychobiology 10 at the time. the lecture itself was a little disappointing because it was very basic and i didn't really learn anything new. but it was unforgettable seeing him, so famous and all, pace the stage of ackerman grand ballroom right in front of me.
